Support group for adult children of parents with mental health and/ or substance abuse disorders

Growing up with a parent with mental health- and/ or substance abuse problems, can still affect you in your current life. You could't be a child because you had to take care of your parent(s). This can still affect you as an adult. You feel responsible, you worry easily or you feel overwhelmed. 

Our support group offers a safe space to connect with others who have or had similar experiences and to realize you are not alone.

The support group consists of 8 sessions. The first meetings are mainly focused on sharing experiences. After that the following themes are discussed:

• Responsibility

• Relationships

• Feelings of guilt

• Setting boundaries

• Identity

Participants can also suggest themes themselves.

An introduction will take place prior to the group.
