Care guidance

Arkin Care Guidance is there for people in a vulnerable position where there is (a suspicion of) a psychiatric disorder, whether or not in combination with addiction, who do not receive regular care due to care-avoiding behavior or the lack of a request for help that is in line with the existing treatment offer. For example, these people are experiencing nuisance, concern and/or homelessness.

Arkin Zorgtoeleiding operates with a broad view within and outside mental health care and at the intersection of the social domain. The team consists of psychiatrists, (social) psychiatric nurses, doctors and a psychologist.

Procedure

Arkin Care Guidance works in an accessible, on-site and outreach way. Activities are:

• Consultation and advice
• Screening and diagnostics (psychiatry, possibly co-morbid somatics)
• Leading to appropriate care
• Information and expertise promotion

If indicated, the client is motivated to treatment and/or directed to social support. Arkin Care Guidance does this in a connecting way by using and strengthening the client's (in-) formal network. Activities of Arkin Zorgtoeleiding have no effect on the deductible. If a referral is made for treatment, the associated regulations apply. After registration, Arkin Zorgtoeleiding will contact you as a referrer within 5 working days.

Methodology

Care guidance guides clients according to the Critical Time Intervention (CTI) methodology which provides insight into the progress and transparency of the care guidance process in terms of the nature of the problem, activities, duration and financing and the desired care offer. Through the phases that CTI works with, the process is structurally evaluated and critically examined its own actions.

In each district there is a (social) psychiatric nurse who is aware of the social map and has contact with authorities in the district. In addition, Arkin Care Guidance is present at all relevant consultations at the city level, where people with misunderstood behaviour come into the picture. Arkin Care Guidance has a role in the chain approach of the WVGGZ in the city.
