The story of Milou
I have always been prone to addiction. Even as a small child, when I went to play at a friend's house, I was completely focused on getting as much candy as possible from their parents (who were often more manipulable than my own parents). In puberty I became very insecure, and I completely lost myself in bulimia.
From the age of 17, when I left home, I quickly replaced this eating disorder with an alcohol addiction, and then I used heavier and heavier substances until I was completely at my bottom at the age of 36.
'Self-help has played a major role'
From there my recovery started. Self-help has played a very big role in this. In addition, I have also followed many different regular and alternative therapies. And I have actively immersed myself in mindfulness, yoga, healthy food and personal development. Even though it was sometimes difficult and not fast enough for me, I noticed that step by step I was getting better and better in my own skin through my efforts, and recovery has really become my passion today.
As an expert by experience, I can now help other people who also want to work on their recovery. I couldn't have thought of anything more beautiful.
