Family-oriented work
Family-oriented work is important. Because in a family with vulnerability to mental problems, there is a higher risk of developing psychiatric and addiction problems in parents and children. Discover on this page what family-oriented work entails.
What is family-oriented work?
Many clients have a role in life as a parent/caregiver. We believe that attention to the role of the parent in a treatment process is an important aspect of recovery-supportive care. We know that a treatment process has a major impact on the mental well-being of a family and on the potential vulnerability of children later in life.
In collaboration with Levvel and the Amsterdam UMC , we have set up the academic collaborative center 'Family-oriented work', aimed at improving care for families. This programme promotes family-oriented work through various interventions, including the child check, parent and child conversations, the use of an expertise network and digital support.
Our goal is to identify families at risk of serious complaints at an early stage, and to provide them with appropriate interventions; from prevention to treatment. Family-oriented work is an integral part of our treatment policy, in which we strive for the well-being of the whole family.
