Personal Health Environment (PHE)

From January 2022, as a client of one of Arkin's specialties, you will be able to view parts of your healthcare file in a personal health environment. A personal health environment, or PGO, is an app or website. On this you can conveniently store and view your health data from different healthcare providers in one place. So from the general practitioner, medical specialist and physiotherapist if they are connected. From January 2022 also from the Arkin specialty where you are being treated.

Frequently asked questions about the PGO

What is a PGO?

A personal health environment, or PGO, is an app or website. On this you can conveniently store and view your health data from different healthcare providers in one place. So from the general practitioner, medical specialist and physiotherapist if they are connected. From January 2022, this will also be possible from the Arkin specialty where you are being treated.

Which parts of my care file do I see in a PGO?

In a PGO you will find the details of your practitioners, complaints and diagnoses, substance use and laboratory results (e.g. blood results). Correspondence from the practitioners with care providers outside Arkin and medication are also visible. You can discuss questions about this information with your practitioner.

Does Arkin have its own PGO?

No, Arkin does not have its own PGO. Arkin does have a client portal for clients with a Karify account. Karify is Arkin's digital environment that is also used for (partial) digital care.

Which PHEs are there?

There are many different PGO providers. At the moment, there are five PHEs suitable for viewing data from a mental health institution. These are Ivido, MijnPGO, Gezondheidsmeter, Drimpy and Quli. We have seen that all the data comes through particularly well in Quli and Drimpy. You decide which PGO you choose. The pgo.nl website provides help for choosing a PBL.

What should I do if I have chosen a PHE?

With the help of your DigiD, you can create an account with the PGO of your choice. Then you retrieve your data from Arkin. In each PGO it is possible to search by name of the healthcare provider. What this looks like exactly differs per PGO, but as a rule it goes as follows: you search for 'Arkin' and then click on 'retrieve data'. You will then automatically see the details of the Arkin specialty where you are being treated.

Please note: Arkin is registered with the place name Amsterdam. Then click on 'get data' and select 'Basic data'. You will then automatically see the details of the Arkin specialty where you are being treated.

What is the advantage of using a PHE?

With a PGO, you store your health data from different healthcare providers very conveniently together in one place. This gives you more insight into your health, condition and treatment and therefore a more important role in your own care process.

Why is Arkin data visible in a PGO?

We do this because we believe that it can help clients take more control over their health and treatment.

Can I also choose not to share my data with a PGO?

Yes, you can. As long as you don't create an account and don't retrieve data from Arkin, we won't share your data. This means that you decide for yourself whether and when you want to view data in a PGO.

Can I share the data in the PGO with my loved ones?

Yes, if you want, you can share this data yourself with another healthcare provider or a loved one. You decide what information you share and with whom.

Is the use of a PGO safe?

Sure. Arkin complies with strict agreements to be able to exchange data securely. Because your health data is privacy-sensitive, you can retrieve your data with DigiD after logging in to the PHE.

What is the difference between a PGO and a client portal?

A personal health environment (PHE) provides access to medical data from various healthcare providers, from general practitioners to hospitals if they are connected, and now also from Arkin. The client portal is Arkin's secure online environment, in which a client has access to their own medical data that is in Arkin's information system. Within Arkin we use the Karify program for this. The video below explains the difference between a PGO and a client portal very clearly.

Is there somewhere I can find more information about PHEs?

On the website pgo.nl you will find various informative videos and you will get help in choosing a PHE.

Why can't I find my specialty?

All specialties that fall under Arkin are registered under Arkin with the place name Amsterdam. So even if you are being treated at Jellinek, Inforsa, Mentrum, Novarum, NPI, PuntP, Roads or Sinai Centrum, or in a place other than Amsterdam, you enter Arkin. Then click on 'get data' and select 'Basic data'. You will then automatically see the details of the Arkin specialty where you are being treated.

Why can't I find Arkin?

Arkin is registered under the city name Amsterdam. For example, if you search for Arkin Amersfoort, no data will become available. Therefore, choose Arkin Amsterdam and choose the location where you are being treated when retrieving data.
