We connect, because together we are stronger! On all aspects and levels, both internally and externally. At the same time, we are involved in business and personally. We choose to be accessible and transparent. We want to bridge differences.

Curiosity

We are curious by having a genuine, warm interest in the other person and continue to learn and develop with pleasure.

History

Arkin has a rich history. For example, the first 'Dolhuis' in Amsterdam was built on the Klovenierswal (www.hetdolhuys.nl) as early as 1569. In 1849, the provincial institution 'Meer en Berg' was opened in the municipality of Bloemendaal near Santpoort , first for 250 patients, at the end of the 19th century this was already about 1300 patients. In 1986 it was decided to close the clinic. The isolation of patients from society was considered outdated. Between 1987 and 2002, the institution was phased out.

Mergers

  • In 1999 the Psychiatric Hospital Amsterdam (PZA) merged with Riagg Centrum/Oud-West and Riagg Noord in Amsterdam. This merger created the then GGZ Mentrum.
  • In 2007, the addiction care institution Jellinek, which has now been in existence for more than 100 years, and Mentrum merged.
  • In 2008, AMC de Meren joined. The 3 organizations merged and continued together under the name Arkin.
  • In 2009, PuntP, Inforsa and Novarum were introduced and NPI and Roads became part of Arkin.
  • In 2010, Mentrum and Jellinek continued as separate specialisms.
  • In 2014, the Sinai Center became part of Arkin.
  • In 2016, Arkin Youth & Family was introduced.
  • In 2019, Arkin Elderly was introduced.
