The program was carefully compiled. Hans Nusselder, as afternoon chairman, welcomed everyone and Floor van Dijk (Executive Board) took us through the Amsterdam and Arkin of today and what is needed to achieve a society in which there is more connection. She received the first lustrum book that all more than a hundred participants received at the end of the afternoon. View the lustrum book here or download the pdf file.
Joseff Iping then sang his own version of the song at the top of his lungs: 'On the Amsterdam canals'. He was accompanied by Heleen Verleur, accordionist. Among other things, the chorus was sung along loudly by those present.
The lecture that followed, by Jaap van der Stel, was about 750 years of addiction care in Amsterdam. A new insight was o.a. dat in the past there was an ambivalent attitude towards drinking.
Then it was time to draw attention to the prevention course 'Vital living after 60'. This happened in a presentation by Marianne de Pundert.
Then it was about the role of mentorship in Amsterdam, which was presented by Piet Laan.
Finally, the 750-year project of Mentrum ('The Backpack of Amsterdam') was discussed. This was presented by Josephine van Balen and Marleen Blokhuis.
In between and afterwards, questions were asked to the speakers.
Time for music
After the readings there was room for music. To crown the anniversary, it was time for singing and spoken word by Mathilde Santing, accompanied by guitarist Maarten van der Grinten. In her performance, she talked about her mother Grietje Santing, who died last year. She was a well-known figure in mental health care because of her long-term and innovative work at Ypsilon. Moved and impressed by the beautiful performance, the participants went to the garden hall for another pleasant get-together. The members of the working group (Hans Nusselder, Udo Nabitz, Marijke Lans, Joseff Iping and Wieke Nolet) look back on this festive afternoon with gratitude and great satisfaction.
